Buenos Aires, Dec 18 (NA) -- In a post commemorating their World Cup victory in Qatar 2022, the press team of Barracas Central placed the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, larger and above the players. According to the Argentine News Agency, the post, which featured 'Chiqui' Tapia in the foreground, included 'leaders' among the acknowledgements and ended with the phrase 'Let's go, National Team! Let's go, Barracas!'
The post was made on the third anniversary of Argentina's third World Cup conquest, lifting the trophy in Qatar at Lusail Stadium after defeating France 4-2 on penalties, having drawn 3-3 in regular time and 30 minutes of extra time.

Barracas Central has once again become the center of controversy, even with the 2025 Argentine football season finished, by placing Tapia in a more important position than the players and coach Lionel Scaloni.
As a tribute to the National Team for their victory in Qatar, Barracas chose to pay tribute to itself, giving prominence to 'Chiqui' Tapia, the leader who began his football journey as a player for 'Guapo' for a brief period and then presided over the club from 2001 to 2020.
With him at the helm, Barracas avoided relegation for 19 years, competed in Primera C, and achieved third-tier national football status for the first time since 1985, ascending to the Metropolitan B in 2010.
After his rise to lead the AFA in 2017, Barracas achieved three promotions in five years, established itself in the First Division, a category it returned to in 2022 after an 88-year absence (it had never competed in professionalism), and the successes continued: it renovated its stadium, which bears his name, and qualified for the first time for the Copa Sudamericana, which it will play in the next season.
Being such an important figure for the club from the Barracas neighborhood, 'Guapo' decided to place him above Argentine star Lionel Messi, coach Lionel Scaloni, and the rest of the players who were protagonists in ending Argentina's 36-year World Cup drought.
IP 'An unforgettable December 18 for all of the Argentine Republic. A National Team that made us emotional and achieved the desired World Cup in Qatar. The third star will always remain in our hearts,' details the message published by the club.
